Through YuvaSpark’s Smart Anganwadi Project, we provide a 48-module, custom-designed Kannada-language curriculum, teacher training sessions, and periodic assessments for children.

We have set up an interactive touch LED panel with customised digital content based on the Chili Pili curriculum certified by the Women and Child Development Department. Our program aims to take advantage of the rapid neurological development of the brain during early childhood to lay the foundation for future education and learning.

According to UNICEF, ‘Quality pre-primary education is the foundation of a child’s journey: every stage of education that follows relies on its success.’ Studies have directly linked a minimum of one year of pre-primary education (i.e., ECE) to increased school completion rates. Unfortunately, schooling at the pre-primary level in rural areas is producing low learning outcomes.

The outmoded pedagogical practices are making children inherently less capable as this lack of stimulation and building of neuronal connections in their early years becomes more and more difficult to change through remedial interventions later in life. Yuvaspark aims to use interactive, custom-designed, digital modules, aligned with the Chili Pili curriculum with the aim of bolstering memory retention and increasing the efficiency of Early Childhood Education provided to children in Anganwadis in Karnataka.

The goal of this project is to catalyze pedagogical innovation at Anganwadi Centres across rural Karnataka to enhance the quality of Early Childhood Education for children under the age of 6. (Note: pedagogical innovation is defined as new teaching practices that differ from the traditional lecture, with the purpose of improving learning).

By introducing interactive smart classrooms which provide enhanced audio-visual modes of synchronous learning, we will create a stimulating learning experience for children. Additionally, through our robust teacher training program, we will equip Anganwadi Workers with the skillsets to effectively utilize the devices.
